Gurucharan University (erstwhile Gurucharan College) bears a glorious legacy of more than nine decades in fostering quality higher education and driving holistic societal change. Over the years the institution witnessed many inevitable structural changes necessary for its continuous growth and development. Of late the college has been upgraded to a state University. Maintaining and improving overall quality of the academics and administration has always been the priority of the institution. Various committees and bodies had been constituted time to time to function and monitor regular academic activity, execution and implementation of plans and programmes for quality enhancement. To bring an integrated approach for better maintenance of quality standard, the "Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC)" was established in erstwhile college on 21st September, 2005. The IQAC was constituted as per the guidelines of National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), Bangalore and UGC.
